Clients & PRESS

“Eve brought a depth of musicality and warmth to our wedding that we’ll never forget.
Every note felt intentional and moving—she truly made the day magical.”
— Beth and Oliver, London

"Thank you so much for performing at our wedding at the Minster in June! There were glowing reviews all round and every guest remarked on how amazing you were and how you really made the ceremony special. We couldn't have asked for a more helpful and competent group. We won't be able to recommend you highly enough to all of our friends!
Thank you again for being such a wonderful part of our special day!"
— Josh and Anise, York

"Amazing day yesterday, nothing but praise from people who didn't know you and are now just as awed by your musical skills as we all are! Your singing workshop was absolutely brilliant, the day was everything we hoped for and more, and has raised over £3,300 for our charity. Everyone had great fun and already asking when the next one is!!
Also very impressed with Cantica choir, a lovely programme, beautiful voices and very professional. "

— Gail T., Medical Records Save Lives

“Eve, thank you for making our wedding ceremony truly magical. The music you performed brought everyone to tears—sophisticated, emotional, unforgettable!”

Applause-Applause-Applause!

We're just so grateful for all of your involvement in the concert at the York Minster. It was a real pleasure to work with you Eve, sooo professional and serious about the music but I could see that there was a lot of fun in the Choir as well. The Music selection hit just the right note as you could tell from the audience reaction which was not going to let you get away without applause after each piece and it was such an underpinning to have Prima sing the Faure's 'Requiem'!!
While we have not yet all the numbers, it looks to have been an important fundraising occasion as well with an estimated £8,500 raised to help York families. Thank you! It has been an immense pleasure collaborating with you all for Home-Start, let's do it again sometime!

— David M., Chair, Home-Start

“The concert Eve produced for our charity exceeded all expectations.
We raised more than we ever dreamed of and the performances were breathtaking.”
— Rob D., Ryedale Special Families

“It's maybe made more exotic than other community choirs by the animated presence of its musical director *Ewa Salecka, a classical musician, arranger and jazz singer from Poland. *Ewa had barely been in her adopted city for five minutes when she lit a torch that brought to light dormant musical ambitions. So many eventually wanted to join, the doors had to be closed and a second larger choir is about to be launched
at a new venue where there's more room to expand.”
— The Yorkshire Post

“IN JUST five years, Polish musician *Ewa Salecka has made a remarkable impact on York’s choral scene, establishing two successful choirs in collaboration with pianist Greg Birch. For non-audition groups, both boast impressively full and varied concert schedules. (...) The York Theatre Royal concert above all showcased *Salecka’s outstanding achievement, proceedings regulated by her exuberant direction.“

Her energy is infectious, and she brings out the best in everyone.”
— Ashley M., Vocal Student
"Eve, I was very impressed with your students’ exam performances: their singing obviously, but also the way they presented themselves on stage. There was a really good consistency in their performances which is something we don’t always hear."

— David L., Director of Music, York St John University

"What an absolutely brilliant night! I did not want it to end. The programme was mixed and varied and not a weak point all evening. You certainly have boundless energy and I think this rubs off on the choir.
Conducting a brass band now - another string to your apron. Well done to you all."
— Graham B. Concert Producer

"Hi *Ewa, just letting you know I got 85 on my solo performance which is a first!! Thank you so much for all the hard work you have put in helping not just me but all the singers you teach! I'm so grateful that I have such a fabulous teacher! Thank you so much!"

— Jess M., Vocal Student

"*Ewa, I went with a friend to your concert last night and was delighted to see you looking so beautiful, poised and in control of such talent. It is hardly believable that such a short time ago you were in my yoga pregnancy class... We really enjoyed the programme and discovered some new music, interesting arrangements and some old favourites. You have such talent, charm, energy and commitment, I would love to come and hear Prima again!"
— Wendy M., Audience Member

"Just thought I’d let you know how much we enjoyed last night’s Grand Opera House concert. We thought it was one of the best you’ve produced. We were especially impressed with your Uni students *Ewa, they were fabulous, and a real credit to you."

— John L., Choir Member

"It is difficult to find words to describe the success of last night’s concert. It was fabulous in the true sense of the word. So intimate and fantastic given the circumstances of the last 18 months.
Your tenacity and tireless hard work has been rewarded."

— Sarah P., Choir Member

"Just wanted to send a heartfelt ‘thank you’ for motivating us, keeping us together and singing when life seemed pretty bleak. Tonight was amazing, exhilarating, uplifting and it gave me goosebumps to be a part of our first concert in two years, in the company of such excellent musicians. I loved it all and it flew by far too quickly. Thank you sounds too small and insignificant but I do, wholeheartedly and unreservedly. You’re amazing. I love PVE."

— Catherine K., Choir Member

"It was heartwarming to read your congratulatory email regarding Saturday’s concert as we always hope to do you proud. However, I think the congratulations should primarily be yours. It was your dedication, enthusiasm, energy and hard work which made this possible. You held us together and kept us motivated throughout fifteen months of lockdowns. Without those weekly Zooms and regular quiz nights, we might all have fallen apart (in more ways than one!) How joyous it was to return to singing together in May this year but, even then it seemed hardly believable that we would be performing in a concert of Saturday night’s calibre two months later. That again was down to your skills, foresight, planning and organisation. I feel privileged to be part of this wonderful choir, surely the absolute best in York."

— Marlyn M., Choir Member

"I joined the choir in April 2015 just in time to do the Haka and the “World in Union Concert” at The Grand Opera House. Followed later in the year by Joint Concert at St Margaret Clitherow, The Armed Man and visit
to Krakow. Quite a busy year for an apprentice! Many more fabulous events especially the three Tin's 'Drop' concerts, Lux Etearna, Alta Pusteria, Misatango, Faure Requiem at The Minster, Selby Abbey. Singing at the Wedding in The Minster, “You’re the Voice” last July and Gloria/Gift of Life at the Riley Smith Hall. Wonderful memories and high points of your and the choirs collective effort. Listening to the longer standing members it would have been great to be with you from the start, (and Prima Vox). However, there is a limit to what any of us can do! You have brought great joy, happiness and experiences to many people as well as bringing new friends together. It is difficult to thank you enough for all you have done.
Looking forward to many more fantastic times."
— Fred F., Choir Member

"Charlotte is feeling full of confidence with her singing and dancing, which is lovely to see, and you are a real contributory part in that. She is getting ready to record her backing vocals on Matthew's 2nd album this weekend, it's all very exciting. Thank you again."

— Elena D., Vocal Student's Parent
